Privacy Policy

Introduction

The GDPR Directive defines the principles of acquiring, keeping and retention of personal data of users of electronic systems. I have written down the principles that guide the collection of data from the customers and users of veteransofarnhem.com, keithcollman.com, greatwarportraits.com and returnoftheliberators.com websites.

1. General information

I want the principles below to be clear and easy to understand. If you require any clarification or further information about how this affects you, please contact me at kc@keithcollman.com.

2. What information do I collect and store about you?

I believe in the principle that all users should feel comfortable using the websites outlined above, and therefore I only collect information from users if and when it helps me to provide a better service or to provide useful information to you with your consent and in agreement with the GDPR Directive. Using the systems described later in this document I collect:

  • Email addresses collected via electronic forms on the websites outlined above when:
    • You buy a book, photographic print or other physical product from me
    • You specifically register to receive email updates about me and the products and services that I offer
  • Your name and physical address that allows me to send you physical products (usually books or photographic prints)

If at any stage of my interaction with you I need other information I will clearly warn you and allow you to express consent.

3. What kind of information I do not collect?

I do not collect or store IP addresses, credit card numbers or any other personal information not outlined above.

The information above I use to contact you by email, with your consent, regarding a purchase or an email list that you have subscribed to.

4. How do I use the collected information?

5. What systems do I use to interact with you?

I use the following digital systems to offer you access to products, services and information and in videos, posts on social media and in discussions with you:

  1. Facebook
  2. Twitter
  3. Squarespace
  4. Google Mail (Gmail)
  5. MailChimp
  6. Campaign Monitor
  7. Google Analytics
  8. PayPal
  9. Stripe

If you are interested in their compatibility with the GDPR Directive / RODO, visit the individual websites of these organisations.

The data, to which I have direct access and which fall within the scope of my interests are stored:

  1. My desktop computer, smartphone and tablet computers, which allows me to receive and respond to emails

  2. By MailChimp and Campaign Monitor, which stores e-mail addresses and names for my lists of email subscribers

  3. Google Analytics, which stores anonymous information about traffic to the websites above.

Anything not on this list (and outlined in number 4 “What systems do I use to interact with you?”) may allow me to see the data you have shared with that service, but only in accordance with their own privacy policies. I do not have direct access to this data, sometimes seeing only your name or nickname (screen name that you used when registering in these sites) and in communicating with you, in written form. You should ask each organisation directly if you want to get confirmation on what data they keep and how to remove or change it.

6. Which systems are used to store your data?

Your data is not shared with anyone else and I never share your personal information with third parties or commercial organisations without your express consent.

7. Who else has access to information collected by me?

8. How long do I keep your data?

All the data described above is kept indefinitely. UK law requires me to store data on business transactions for a period of six years after the initiation of the transaction.

Your data is your property and you have full control over it. If you want to know what I keep about you, send me an email via kc@keithcollman.com. Do the same if you want to remove data under my control from any of the systems that I use (see point 5, Which systems are used to store your data?).

9. How can you find out what data I hold about you?
